Manuel joined the team as Chief Financial Officer in July 2024, bringing a deep passion for venture capital and finance. As CFO, he ensures that Join’s finances and operations run smoothly at all times. Manuel also oversees and guides Join’s funds, adding a unique value to our team structure and ecosystem.

Manuel studied Business Administration in Potsdam and Barcelona, earning a PhD for his in-depth analysis of the strategic behavior of German venture capitalists. Following his studies, Manuel spent several years fostering academic technology spin-offs on their entrepreneurial journeys. He also gained valuable investment experience as Managing Director of a pre-seed fund at the renowned Hasso Plattner Institute and as part of the investment team at Hasso Plattner Ventures.

Additionally, Manuel served as CFO of a data-driven scale-up in Berlin, where he navigated the challenges of raising external funding while managing cash flow constraints and internal operations during times of high uncertainty. In early 2022, Manuel returned to his venture capital and finance roots as Head of Finance for Signals Venture Capital before becoming CFO of JOIN.

Manuel’s extensive experience and deep knowledge in both finance and venture capital, combined with his passion for pan-European deep tech startups, make him a valuable addition to the JOIN team.

In his spare time, Manuel enjoys sports, both as a participant and a spectator. You might also find him on the water, continuing his newly started kitesurfing career.
